GAME PREVIEW: TUCSON TRAVELS TO SAN DIEGO TO FACE STRIKE FORCE

The Tucson Sugar Skulls head to San Diego for a third and final contest against the Strike Force

TUCSON - The Tucson Sugar Skulls will hit the road looking to bounce back against the San Diego Strike Force on Saturday night.

This will be the third meeting between these teams this season, with each of the games coming down to the final possession with a point difference of 5 or less in both games. Round one in Tucson went to the Strike Force in a 67-66 heartbreaker, while the second game concluded in a 69-65 thriller in favor of Tucson.

Back on track

The Sugar Skulls lost a tough one in Phoenix by the score of 54-24, it was the most points they've allowed since Saturday, May 21st on the road in their 69-65 road win over this same San Diego squad.

In that game, Skulls' quarterback Daquan Neal threw three interceptions and went just 7-for-16 on pass attempts. Entering that game Neal only had two interceptions on the entire season. He'll look to to get the offense back on track, as the Skulls are still one of the most potent offenses in the IFL.

Finish Strong

Tucson is entering their final three-game stretch of the season, and will need to take advantage of the lower seeds in the west in Bay Area and San Diego. They will also face off against the out-of-conference Iowa Barnstormers in their final home game of the season on July 9th.

Jones & Jones

The Jones running back duo is back, with Benjamin Jones returning against the Rattlers on Saturday. Mike Jones will look to punish the Strike Force with his physical running ability, while Benjamin will provide the electric kickoff returns.

Jones had 6 returns for 142 yards in his return from the injured reserve list. Keep an eye out for him in the kick return game this weekend against the Strike Force.

Playoff push

The Sugar Skulls will look to lock in their playoff spot with a win over San Diego or a Vegas loss due to conference tiebreakers. The Rattlers and Wranglers are locked in as the top 2 seeds, so once the dust settles between the top two seeds they will find out which Arizona team they will travel to in the first round.
