Biography

Jerome Buckner is joining the Sugar Skulls for his first IFL season in 2025. 

Buckner finished his collegiate career at Texas A&M Commerce, in the 2023 season, he tallied 23 receptions for 302 yards and had 2 touchdowns. In 2022, he saw action with Illinois State and finished the season with 8 catches for 162 yards. He averaged 20.3 yards per reception. From 2018-2021, Buckner attended Ohio, he played in 21 games across 4 seasons, recording 32 receptions for 507 yards and four touchdowns. 


The Columbus, Ohio native attended Gahanna Lincoln High School, where he amassed 4,642 receiving yards throughout his high school career and scored 44 touchdowns. He was a three-time All-State and All-Metro selection, as well as a four-time All-League and All-District honoree. He earned the title of Offensive Player of the Year once and was named team MVP three times.
