Biography

Denzel Chukwukelu joins the Sugar Skulls for his second season in the IFL. Chukwukelu spent his rookie season last year playing in seven games for the Iowa Barnstormers, registering 18 total tackles, 10 solos, three tackles-for-loss, one sack, and a fumble recovery. 

Chukwukelu played four years at UTEP compiling 93 total tackles (43 solos), 14 tackles-for-loss, five sacks, two forced fumbles, and two blocks. Playing defensive tackle throughout his career with the Miners, Chukwukelu earned All-Conference USA Second Team honors as a senior in 2019. A native of Rockwall, Texas, Chukwukelu attended Rockwall Heath High School.
