Biography

DB Malik Boynton joins the Tucson Sugar Skulls for his first season with the team. After playing college football at Austin Peay in 2017, Boynton tried out for the Pittsburgh Steelers the next year. Afterward, he saw time on the AAF’s Memphis Express during 2019.

Boynton then landed an opportunity to join the CFL’s Winnipeg Blue Bombers prior to arriving in Tucson.

During his time at Austin Peay, he made 51 career tackles, forced three fumbles, and an interception.

Boynton is also a man with an emotional past full of struggle and loss. Yet, his will to continue playing football proves just how admirable his courage and perseverance is.
