Brion Murray joins the Sugar Skulls in 2025 for his first season with the team and his second season in the Indoor Football League (IFL).
In 2024, Murray joined the Jacksonville Sharks, where he appeared in eight games and recorded 31 tackles, including 27 solo stops.
His college career at Virginia Tech was marked by strong defensive performances. In 2022, he played in seven games with three starts, contributing 17 tackles, one sack, one tackle for loss, a pass breakup, and a quarterback hurry. The previous season, he appeared in 11 games, breaking up five passes and tallying seven tackles against Virginia.
In 2020, Murray played nine games with eight starts, logging 36 tackles, two interceptions for 92 yards, and four passes defended. Notable moments included a 47-yard interception return against NC State and a four-tackle, one-sack performance against Boston College. His debut season in 2019 saw him in 11 games, earning his first start in the Belk Bowl, where he recorded an interception and a 23-yard return.
Before Virginia Tech, Murray played at Coffeyville Community College, earning All-KJCCC Honorable Mention in 2018. In high school, the Milford, Delaware native was named Milford Boys and Girls Club Youth of the Year and Milford High School Youth of the Year in 2017.
