TUCSON - The Tucson Sugar Skulls are back in action this week to take on the Duke City Gladiators.
The Sugar Skulls look to end a two-game skid, with losses to San Diego and Northern Arizona, and return to Tucson back on track. This game in Albuquerque, New Mexico will take place on Saturday, May 13. Kickoff is scheduled for 5:05 pm.
LAST WEEK
In last week's contest, the Northern Arizona Wranglers traveled south to Tucson to take on the Sugar Skulls. After a scoreless first quarter for both sides, the Wranglers took the lead in the second and never looked back, ending with a 31-21 Wranglers victory. This game was a highly defensive affair with both sides totaling three interceptions.
Trae'varis Farrell stood out in this defensive performance leading the Sugar Skulls with eight tackles, two sacks, and an interception.
BATTLE READY
The Sugar Skulls are ready to get back on track against the Duke City Gladiators this week. Since their first meeting in 2021, the Sugar Skulls hold a 4-1 record against the Gladiators with their only loss coming last season in New Mexico.
The Sugar Skulls scraped by in the most recent meeting between these two teams with a tightly contested 42-41 victory.

Ramone Atkins spent his rookie season with the Duke City Gladiators. During that season, he led the Gladiators to their first victory against the Sugar Skulls, an 8-5 record, and a playoff appearance.
This incredible season with the Gladiators earned him IFL Offensive Rookie of the Year honors. Ramone is ready to take on his old team this weekend in New Mexico.
