TUCSON - The Tucson Sugar Skulls are back on the road, this time in their home state, to face the Arizona Rattlers.
The Tucson Sugar Skulls are looking to continue winning on the road, kick-off for the game will take place at 6:05 pm local time (AZ) at the Footprint Center in Phoenix, Arizona.
After a convincing road win in San Diego to open their season on Monday, the Skulls will only have a few days of time to turn around and prepare for their battle against the Rattlers.
Last game, the Sugar Skulls won their season opener on the road in San Diego 35-16 led by an impressive defensive performance and balanced offensive attack. As the Rattlers are coming off a bye week, and the week before they fell just short in their 47-46 loss to the San Jose Panthers.
The history between these teams the Skulls have fallen 1-8, when traveling to face the Rattlers the Sugar Skulls are 0-5. The teams faced off twice in 2022 with both teams securing a win as well as a loss.
The Rattlers are without their Quarterback, Drew Powell, so it all comes down to their backup Jorge Reyna as the Rattlers will have to figure it out without their veteran Quarterback.
The Skulls' defense showed up big last game, with DB Mike Minter had 11 tackles (8 solo, 3 assisted), 1 pass breakup LB Trae'varis Ferrell had 9 tackles, (4 for loss), 1 sack, 1 pass breakup, and both DB Rashie Hodge and DB JJ Dallas each had one interception. The Sugar Skulls had much success and are hoping their success on the road continues.
