Brian Smith competed collegiately at the University of Louisiana, where he appeared in seven games with one start as a wide receiver at the Division I FBS level, recording seven receptions for 74 yards. Prior to Louisiana, Smith built an impressive résumé at Glendale Community College, totaling 828 receiving yards and seven touchdowns while earning All-Conference recognition. He later continued his development at Missouri Valley College, where he recorded 379 receiving yards and four touchdowns in just five games.
