Mike Feder - Executive Director
Mike Feder has been a General Manager in minor league baseball for 30 years, spending 1989 – 2001 as the GM of the Tucson Toros/Sidewinders and 2011 – 2013 as General Manager of the Tucson Padres. Mike received the Presidential Citation from Minor League Baseball and was the Pacific Coast League’s Executive of the Year in 2013. That was the sixth time he has received the Executive of the Year award in professional baseball. Mike also spent five years with the New Orleans Saints from 2001 – 2005 and two years as Coordinator, Tucson Special Projects for the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2014 and 2015. Feder also ran the Arena Football League’s New Orleans VooDoo from 2004 – 2005. Feder then moved on to the AFL’s Austin Wranglers where he was the Executive Director from 2005 - 2006.
In his years in Tucson, Mike has been very active in the community, serving on the Board of Directors for Visit Tucson, the Father’s Day Council which raises money for the Steele Children’s Research Center, the Tucson Police Foundation, and the Caballeros Del Sol. Mike was also the Media Director and a Board Member for the Copper Bowl from 1990 – 1996. Feder was inducted into the Pima County Sports Hall of Fame in 1998, as well as being honored by the Conquistadores in 1997 for long and meritorious service to the Tucson sports community.
He was most recently the President of the Mexican Baseball Fiesta (eight years in Tucson), and Executive Director of the NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl.
Rob Gallo - Director of Sales
Rob Gallo has worked in radio in Tucson since 2000 both on the air and in sales. He moved to Tucson in 1983 and attended the University of Arizona. He was on the air at KLPX from 2000 to 2006, and at KFMA from 2006 to 2010. Prior to joining the Sugar Skulls, Gallo worked in sales for Scripps Media, the parent of MIXFM and ESPN radio.
Jay Gonzales - Director of Media Relations
Jay Gonzales has been involved with media in Tucson since 1979 as a reporter at the Arizona Daily Star, public affairs manager at Tucson Electric Power Company and communication director at the City of Tucson. He has operated his own public relations firm since 2009. He is a native of Tucson, graduated from Sahuaro High School, and holds a bachelor’s degree in journalism from the University of Arizona.
Gonzales also has been active in the community as a member of numerous boards and organizations, including the Copper Bowl/Insight Bowl and the Tucson Fiesta Bowl Committee. He is a statistician for University of Arizona men’s and women’s basketball and has been active as a baseball and softball coach and public address announcer for The Gregory School since 2009. In 1998 he was named the Tucson Metropolitan Chamber of Commerce Man of the Year for his community involvement.
Anton Zimanek - Executive Assistant
Anton Zimanek brings a background in indoor football having served in a similar position at the Arizona Rattlers for the last 2½ years where he was involved in scouting, video and football operations. He also worked in ticket operations with the Phoenix Suns and Arizona Cardinals.
He earned a bachelor’s degree in Hospitality, Sport & Tourism Management from Troy University, and was honored with Most Outstanding Student Award in his department. Zimanek worked in the sports information office during his time at Troy.
