TUCSON, ARIZONA – The Tucson Sugar Skulls will hold an open tryout for their all-female dance team on Sunday, January 27, in the Monsoon Room at the Desert Diamond Casino, 7350 S. Nogales Highway.

Applicants must be 18 years of age or older.

Registration begins at noon. The tryout will be from 1 p.m. to 6 p.m. and is open to the public. Applicants will be required to present identification and pay a $20 tryout fee in cash. No checks or credit or debit cards will be accepted. All applicants also must provide a headshot photo at registration.

Suggested attire is crop top with spandex shorts and jazz or lightweight tennis shoes. Hair should be worn down and make-up should be done.

Dance team members must have the ability to perform different styles of dance to include pom, jazz, funk, and hip hop. They must be able to work well under pressure and adapt to performance changes, always demonstrating high energy.

The team will practice twice per week and will perform at every home game. Attendance at all seven home games and playoff games is required. The Sugar Skulls’ home season begins March 10 and runs through June 15. All games are at the Tucson Arena.

The Tucson Sugar Skulls are in their first year of operation as an expansion franchise of the Indoor Football League. The team will begin its inaugural season in March with home games at the Tucson Arena.
